Calling All Redheads
Every weekend in Galway is something special but the second weekend of May this year was extra special because of 2 shows in Pearce Stadium from everyone’s favorite redhead Ed Sheeran. We thought we’d join in the party atmosphere by giving away Free karting for all redheads all weekend!
So we expected it to be popular but we were blown away by how much, within minutes of posting to Facebook we had dozens of comments & messages. We decided to double down & help raise awareness of the other major event that weekend, Darkness into Light.
We amended our post to add that for every comment on the post we would donate a euro to Darkness into Light up to €500. Then things got crazy!! Over 1000 comments with hundreds of likes & shares – reaching over 100,000 people!! Job done, €500 raised for Pieta House, Preventing Suicide and Self Harm, plus a track full of redheads karting all weekend, everyone’s a winner.
Shortly after we were delighted to welcome Joe Burke to Galway City Karting where Eóin & Tarja presented a €500 donation to Pieta House, Preventing Suicide and Self Harm from our Redheads/Ed Sheeran weekend promotion
